The Trump administration argues that providing real-time American Sign Language interpretation for events like White House press briefings would intrude on the president’s control over his public image.
Is it intruded on his ability to control his image of appearing to be a jerk to handicapped people?
Wouldn’t surprise me. He actually probably has two asl names minimum because he’s polarizing, famous, and hearing (if he were Deaf his asl name would just be the one he uses). The Deaf are as unsubtle as the easy jokes would imply. Also he was famously hated in his hometown which has a decent Deaf community. Decent size, probably not behavior, I feel comfortable assuming that Deaf New Yorkers aren’t particularly polite representations of either of their communities.
Yeah, now imagine one who has no idea how loud they’re being and has different cultural understanding of things like boundaries. Wait I just described a new Yorker. Ok one who also can’t talk without moving their hands. Shit… um yeah has anyone checked if ordinary New Yorkers can hear?
It’s pretty wild how “Donald Trump” in ASL is the same gesture as “jerking off” followed by the one for “bullshit.”
I hope this is true. Please let it be true

I don’t know, it would be pretty hard to be a particularly impolite representative of New Yorkers.
