Should be super easy to prove too… Take an assortment of Teslas to a 1 mile stretch of road, drive it up and down 20 times, measure the mileage before and after.

Sure, ideally, unless they’re doing something more sophisticated. VW passed emission tests by detecting they were being tested.

Some potential easy to implement gotchas: minimum mileage, geo fencing, how much braking is used

Also nowadays cars are updated constantly. So you better already collected your evidence as they simply won’t do it anymore now (until after the courts have ruled in their favor for a lack of evidence…)

Anecdotal evidence… But mine seem very close. Roughly 1.2k miles on the car and Google does say I did 1212 miles of driving.

I know this because of my model 3 getting to 80k miles so I kept track vs Google timeline. I’m not sure if I believe they’re fudging the numbers. Tesla service can also see when a fault develops and have honoured expired warranty for a friend after he went over as their log said this error started appearing while it was still below the mileage.

Fuck Musk, but I’ve had very good experience with my car. I’m not going to be buying new one, ever, but it’s straight up the best EV out there. I have tried Ford mustang, mg 4,5 and Zs. Hyundai, BYD and KIA. They’re sub par vs teslas from 5 years ago.
