in Ireland it often will get called soccer a lot of the time because football means Gaelic Football (depending on some context), but then sometimes they definitely say football for english football and gaelic for gaelic
They can call it Extreme Football or Gladiatorial Football to differentiate it from the slow-moving low-impact variety
