November’s Tesla registrations were down in France, Sweden, Denmark, and Germany. Norway, however, is bucking the trend—thanks to a tax incentive system that will soon be rolled back.
The article doesn’t actually the answer the title question. It just talks about Norway’s tax incentives for electric cars in general, with not even a half sentence about why they’re buying Tesla specifically. Tesla is hardly the only company that makes electric cars in its price bracket nowadays.
That title is pure clickbait, basically, and the article itself isn’t really in depth enough to be worth reading even if the title was honest.
Well considering I know they absolutely don’t love fascism in Norway, I must admit that I’m disappointed Tesla isn’t seeing a decline there like in the rest of Europe.
Anybody I know Tesla simply isn’t an option anymore (Denmark). Tesla has dropped to half compared to last year, and that’s in a growing market with growing EV marketshare, among private buyers EV is 90% of sales now. The Tesla brand is now ranked 13th most sold brand in Denmark. 🤣🤣🤣
Exactly.
Unfortunately (but that still doesn’t explain the difference between Norway and the rest of Europe) most other EV producers keep themselves way behind on pretty basic EV-specific feature like pre-heating/defrost (without necessarily being connected to a charger), changing charge speed / amperage or max % through the app, planning pre-heating or charging through the app, api/integration with home energy system, over the air updates, heated steering wheel, etc.

What is happening up there in Norway?

By far VW.
