  • 2nd paragraph of the article:

Update: the above image is older, which has some folks on social media wondering

Stelantis was reported doing this with Jeep, and now they are doing it with Dodge too. You are confusing the issue because you are misremembering the facts.

    3rd paragraph:

This isn’t the first time Stellantis has pulled this sort of stunt with popup ads, either. They already tried adding pop-up ads to Jeeps

This is just another example of the shitshow Stellantis has become! It’s an unnecessary distraction that blocks the use of the screen until you close the message. This is bound to cause issues and probably even accidents.

  • the public didn’t know

That’s not true, for many years Firefox was basically financed by Google for being the default search engine, because Google didn’t want Microsoft to monopolize Internet Browsers. Everybody who had the slightest interest knew that.

But that’s completely irrelevant, it’s a very marginal source of revenue today, and Firefox does not sell user info to Google. So it’s on Google to warn about using Google search.
The only reason for the change in Firefox privacy terms was for clarification. For instance any information given to Firefox, does not grant Firefox ownership of it. (opposite of for instance Facebook)
That’s a guarantee of user protection, not the opposite. Firefox has a very limited scope of “using” user data, like for instance storing links with Firefox, so they work across multiple devices.
There is no “harvesting” of user behavior or information.

  • Yes those are tough to get from good sources, but they are made in Europe too in for instance Greece and Spain, probably also Turkey and Italy. We just need it to be better shown where they are from.
Here in EU, Almonds are often from California, and Pistachio from Iran or Israel, I don’t want that either.
We need to source them from Europe. Almonds and Pistachios are too delicious to not have.

  • I’m guessing by Nazi elections you are referring to the pre WW2 elections, where the NSDP took power without a majority.

The difference now in for instance Germany is that AfD is by far most popular in a small segment of the country. And even if AfD get 30% they will not be able to take exclusive control, probably not even be able to get into government.

I agree it’s worrying that AfD is so popular, and it does indicate a problem in Germany that needs to be addressed.
My guess is they are popular because the former East Germany part feel overlooked, and that too many resources are used on refugees/immigrants.
Something Denmark has warned about on a European scale for more than a decade.
We simply haven’t figured out a working framework to keep receiving more and more immigrants from non Western countries, for a variety of reasons.
And the worst off in society believe they are the ones to foot the bill, because the poor don’t get much share in our increased wealth. But the truth is most of our increased wealth is going to those that already have more than they need.

We need to for instance stop giving more tax benefits to the rich, and have a better balance in how the wealth of our society is distributed. Fascism sucks at doing that, but without an alternative on the left, that’s where the protest votes will go. Because they promise to “solve” what the less well off perceive to be a huge part of the problem.
