  • It’s gotta be some kind of sheep brain activation; crowd following behavior. It can be very annoying sometimes.

Sometimes you’re just voicing a neutral opinion and it gets destroyed. And by neutral I mean it’s not controversial or anything, like racism, it could just be something not exactly everyone would agree with.

I wish people would use the down vote as Reddit once intended it to mean: off topic and not contributing to the discussion, or perhaps rude, etc. Not “I don’t agree with this”. You should explain why you don’t agree with something, or up vote a comment that already explains it.

  • Maybe I just come across really aggressively or something and I’m completely oblivious to it

You were definitely the aggressor in this situation, yes.

    This was the instigating comment.

Have a read from the start until that comment, and I’m sure you can tell the mood switch you brought to the table with that comment.

I’m not blaming you. Sometimes we read into things. Interpret things that aren’t being said. Maybe that’s what happened to you here. Sometimes it happens.

❤️ I’d go back and apologize to that person, for calling them illiterate and stupid etc.

    Have a good one, buddy!

  • Much rarer in my experience also. I am much more at peace here, and find myself much less inclined to frantically refresh my inbox when having conversations here.

Notifications here make me excited in a good way, rather than raise my blood pressure like they did on Reddit.

  • I don’t get what kind of communities and posts y’all are hanging out in where people talk shit and start shit 🥴

I’ve mostly only had proper interactions with folks here. Some miniscule percentage of rude assholes who are looking for a reaction, but other than that, much smoother than Reddit ever was.
