It’s right to be alarmed about climate change, there will be serious long-term impacts, but it seems irrational to be completely fatalistic.
Ok, what about when you also factor in resource depletion? Is it right to be fatalistic yet?
Because from where I’m standing, it doesn’t look like there’s much of a future for anything on this planet when Global freshwater demand will exceed supply 40% by 2030, experts warn and 90 per cent of Earth’s topsoil is at risk of depletion by 2050.
How will the billions of children born in this decade, survive in an increasingly polluted and hot future, with no fresh water or arable land?
You’d want an industrial meat grinder like what they make dog food out of.
I don’t know how well it will hold up but the book Wilt by Tom Sharp covered this in, what I recall being, quite hilarious detail.
Caveat: This book is from the 70’s and a product of its time. While I recall enjoying it when I picked it up (decades later) as a teenager, a comedy about a depressed man who hates his wife and regularly fantasises about killing her, just sounds like misogynistic bullshit to me now, no matter how funny it is. But maybe it holds up somehow, idk.
You’d have about 3 days of quiet contemplation before the dehydration will kill you.
Considering how horrifying the thought of a void is for you, at least you won’t be stuck in there for very long.
Sounds like a great place for meditation.
Pedantic thought experiment side note that is ironically long for a side note:
How is it a void if it contains the ecosystems and consciousness(ess? (Gut biome and the various microscopic skin mites, etc)) of a human body?
That’s a fuck ton of biology, physics, chemistry, philosophy, etc for a space where nothing is supposed to be. Does time also exist there? Because if it didn’t you couldn’t be aware of your self in there, so that would be a problem solved.
If time does exist in this void though, by entering the void you will have changed its nature, it will stop being a void and it starts just being more of you. …And if you still can’t feel anything, I think this is called depression.
What’s the therapeutic equivalent of mining charges?
If it’s not death, that just sounds like the best sleep possible.
Do you have access to a woodchipper?
People who enjoy breaking down and hurting other people.
Coupled with their recent micro-miniskirt post, I’m struggling not to believe this account isn’t some kind of altright tradwife training kink.
Wellington NZ during a wind storm. I spent a whole afternoon jumping into the wind and practically floating down the beach, and it’s probably the most fun I’ve ever had sober.
So what you’re saying here is that men are so dangerous and violent as a whole, that men need to protect themselves from the dangers of other men…
But women should stop taking precautions around men and stop constantly complaining about not wanting to get raped and murdered by men, because not all men are violent rapists and it hurts mens feelings?
And then when a woman is raped and murdered in her hotel room, men like you will be saying that she must have wanted it because she didn’t even take basic precautions to make sure no-one could get in.
So when women start taking these precautions, because generations of women before them have learnt from experience that when a man rapes you, it’s your fault for not taking precautions… men like you now complain that women are overly paranoid and making things worse for themselves, because their precautions are hurting your feelings.
Most of the neopets foods. I haven’t played in years but I still sometimes scroll through jellyneo just browsing the foods and thinking about how interesting and/or delicious it would be to taste all these strange and wonderful things.
Dispatches From Elsewhere.
This was so good for 9 whole, long ass episodes, and then the last episode just shat all over every single thing that had happened previously and resolved nothing, because it had to be meta and a dumb allegory for writing a script while overcoming alcoholism and it didn’t even make sense so it just meta-ed itself again to get out of having to tie up a single god damn story line.
Seriously though, the first episode is fantastic and beautiful and I do recommend watching it, but just don’t go past that because you will get invested in the story and have all your hopes crushed as not one iota of it pays off.
Honestly, I’m still skeptical.
I glanced at the ai summary as I can’t watch something right now and this ‘pre-existing health condition’ just seems like a great way to absolve himself of the responsibilities of veganism, while still retaining his paycheque/followers and that feeling of superiority he very likely gets from preaching about righteous ways online.
I have little faith in media personalities though, so who knows, maybe I’m wrong.
If the internet is demonised with enough propaganda about it being full of porn and bad for the environment, while steadily becoming more and more difficult to access, then the British public will stop knowing about the atrocities Kid Starver is spending their tax money on.
Protesting anything the government disaproves of is a criminal offense and journalists have already been imprisoned over reporting too accurately on the Palestinian genocide.
I get the feeling the internet sanctions and propaganda will just keep coming now till the government can control the narrative and we will always have been at war with East Asia.
Just look at Alex O’connor’s vegan journey.
Can you summarise? Ngl, I’m skeptical tho.
Lmao, did you really just tell someone to kill themselves because they don’t want to have children?
And you think you respect life. What irony.
