You truly got to admire how of the 4 Documents, which show how and why this is compliant with the GDPR, 3 are authored by MS and 1 is authored by them. In all fairness it is likely the most important one, the Doc about data security,etc. Yet I dont think this is a particulary good move as they them selfes sorta admit, that this deal has nothing to do with digital souverenty and havent thought about it at all. Which would likely be a dealbreaker if one cared about such things

Not sure what you are looking for, but two things come to mind firstly Meshtastic as a system that doesnt use the already existing Internet infrastructure and secondly i2p as a system that uses the existing Internet infrastructure.

Theoretically if it were already released I would say that is the niche that the framework 12 should fit in, but it is going to release in a couple of months. :/
How about Mailcow? I mean you don’t need to actually create the Mail Server in order to use Calendar. The setup is pretty straight forward
