It does not have to be “deciphered”. C’mon, now. It might seem kinda strange when it’s written out, but this is a completely normal sentence to say. The only way I can see this being misconstrued in good faith is maybe if English wasn’t someone’s first language, but if literally anyone besides Trump said this it wouldn’t even raise an eyebrow, let alone be headline worthy.

I’m not saying your opinion is wrong or that you have to watch the video or anything like that, but videos like this are made so that you can see the testing procedure and judge it’s validity without just having to assume they did their job right. You are the superuser, telling the computer to do the restricted action in a privileged state. For example maybe there’s a read-only file you want to delete; is you just type rm <directory> it would tell you access denied, if you use sudo rm <directory> you get what you want.

So in your username, it really just depends on if whoever is reading it thinks you’re the user, or the computer. I personally didn’t read it from any particular perspective, I just thought it was referencing the joke command with no target in particular.

I had to stay up to push my sleep schedule back to catch an early flight. I didn’t know we were going back until it was about to be 2am (when I planned to go to sleep) and it was suddenly 1am.
