It’s a tough balance, you don’t want a whole page for each one. Maybe if there was a clear list of tags so it’s easier to understand even what category they’re talking about?

I really don’t know what this product category even is. Is it for web layout? Is it a drawing program? Is it for CAD?

Love the list, but scrolling through, the one liners don’t mean much for a lot of these.

The descriptions are just too short and vague to even understand what a lot of them actually do.

They’re here, anything pro trump is often downvoted, and most things heavily critical of the Dems are also often downvoted.

For better or worse, there’s not a lot of right wing stuff that makes it into the positive on votes.

It’s hard to tell sometimes, but it certainly feels like some political regimes are trying out dropping propaganda here or there into the conversation. I’m sure most of it is from genuine users, but there are some comments that just look like they’re here to stir up dissent.

When Kamala wins, I’m curious if it will encourage a shorter election cycle, so people are still excited about their candidate when voting starts.

Our moon is officially called Moon. Luna is just something used occasionally, but not always. The sun is also officially named Sun. It’s just that those terms started being overloaded after we learned that there were other Moons and Suns. You can try to get all fancy with Sol and Luna, but those are just old Latin terms for Moon and Sun. They’re no less generic than the ones we currently use.

This is exactly the reason, after using Sync for YEARS on reddit, I paid for Sync on Lemmy the minute it was available.

This is absolutely the best application for browsing this type of forum. I get why some other folks prefer FOSS/Free/Non-ad based apps, but I have no qualms about shelling out the cash for a really well designed app that I use just about daily.

Depends on if you’re coding for critical infrastructure (i.e. - electrical grid), or writing a high performance video game that can run on older hardware.

We should absolutely have specific licenses like Civil Engineers do for computer infrastructure that is required for any software written for specific purposes. It would be a nightmare to implement, but at some point, it’s going to be needed.
