I’ve been tempted to give a Nazi solute when a police officer was trying to illegally force me to give ID when I hadn’t done anything wrong and they knew it and didn’t even claim to suspect me of a crime. It’s an ironic or protest solute, but a photo of me doing it would look bad, which is why I haven’t. Fuck authoritarianism.

This is why there are no plans to try to sell something like this in the US. I drive three hours each way on day-trips fairly often, and a couple times a year I drive around 1000 miles per day for longer trips. Even people who live in cities with short commutes often want to travel to places several hours away pretty regularly. Here you can drive for hours and hours and hours and not even leave the state. It’s not like we can take a train either.

Just a little reminder that governments have killed more people than any other entity and it isn’t even close. You could try to point at religion - and that history is also fucked - but even if you exclude “holy wars” waged by religious government leaders, religious killing still doesn’t add up to what has been done by governments where religion wasn’t really a factor. The proletariat must not be disarmed. You might trust your current government, but give it a generation (or even an election) and things could be very different.
