@Bonifratz @AnalogNotDigital I was interested in this - can you share where this figure came from / how calculated?
@Bonifratz @AnalogNotDigital I was interested in this - can you share where this figure came from / how calculated?
@Bonifratz @AnalogNotDigital Do you have sources for those stats?
@Thorry84 Yeah … I think their apps even offer it as a feature so you don’t have to pick up the device.
@Thorry84 @semperverus I’m often surprised how behind the times the US is. I mean chequebooks anyone? Card swiping? Overnight payment systems? Feels like a step back to the 90’s
@Thorry84 @semperverus Im just checking . Are you discussing what is basically ASDA shop and go… or the same service with a different name offered by every major UK supermarket ? asda.com/instore/scan-and-go
@Godnroc @Natal Something like this that you could flash a custom ROM on?

@warmaster I was just agreeding and suggesting that their monetisation strategy is licencing hence the reason for improvements for Enterprise clusters rather than focusing on Self Hosting is the money.
@warmaster @Shimitar Their licencing suggests they are targetting larger infra.
@warmaster Cheers. Ideally we would bring everything together. I guess Wordpress is a bit different though. Maybe i should have web hosting…
@medem Opps many I should have mentioned them … @mailbox_org
@medem Cool … On pricing do you know what the Groupware groups limit of 1 on their Silver level means practically? Does that mean only one group in Nextcloud? The jump to €75 per month for Gold would be to expensive for them.
@gratux I missed they do Nextcloud. Might be a good choice.
@bizdelnick Oh I love Openwrt andnfor router functionality its great. But I am trying to have my cake and eat it by seeing what applications I could also selfhost on the box as well. e.g. anything such as email, file sharing, activitypub server or homeassistant
@poVoq Yeah I was thinking that the overhead of a Hypervisor was a bit much hence something that is a bit more lightweight.
@rikudou Its open source. The owner will die … the software can live forever.
@KazuchijouNo Just install something like WordPress which generates RSS of posts automatically. Bonus you can add the Activitypub plug in and syndicate your content with Mastodon etc.
@Blisterexe Well so many businesses do this because they believe that the vendor will somehow charge less if they can reuse that code… but if its highly customised thats unlikely . it just becomes a case of pushing the costs down the road.
Not many postal banking businesses in the world
@yak So this is an interesting thing. Obviously the functionality required by the #PostOffice is to a degree bespoke - but not considering ownership was a critial failure of the contracting process.
Interestingly I think that there is something that every #creditunion that outsources its #corebanking and other IT should consider - How locked into that offering they are and what happens if they want to change? #Opensource #banking solutions offer the ability to both switch vendors and also customise to their requirements realitively easily - I’m not sure how many use solutions based on #mifos or #fineract - I guess they are still fairly new.
@AnalogNotDigital Ah I found BBC, Reuters and AP quoting the Ukranian SBU " SBU officially confirmed it had carried out the strikes, saying that “34% of [Russia’s] strategic cruise missile carriers” were hit" - bbc.com/news/articles/c1ld7ppr… - and that " Tu-95 and Tu-22M3, as well as A-50 were destroyed" - Claims not yet independently verified. - It sounds like a massive hit but I have a feeling that we might see independent claims downgrading the figure a bit. The “strategic cruise missile carriers” is also a bit of qualifier. I would assume that there are independent estimates of what usable air power Russia has. I’m not seeing those chime in yet.
