I thought it seemed weirdly anti-oligarchy for them and the comments were almost entirely pro-Burr. Interesting times we live in for sure
No? It’s only been a few weeks, it’s not that easy to replace a judge without them leaving normally.
It’s all good, what I’m getting at is basically this:
Don’t trust the stripper = don’t trust a specific one, like the one someone is paying to dance for them at any given time for a hypothetical example
Don’t trust a stripper = strippers shouldn’t be trusted in general

I know you’re joking (and it’s funny) but this is maybe true in a way (not exactly a “thanks Obama” way to me because i doubt he could have expected this insane timeline) if you’re talking about how he made fun of 45 at the White House Correspondents Dinner which is speculated by some to have been a key moment in what happened to ultimately end up with 45’s having become president and leading to all this. I don’t really believe this is as important as some say, in my opinion it may have accelerated what was likely to happen already (end stage capitalism (🤞, sort of))
I fear this is too charitable an estimation of the average US citizen’s ability to spot propaganda. I genuinely worry some people are fooled by how it’s all wrapped in the flag and not understanding the dangers of nationalism or the alt right pipeline just fall for it and end up buying in, not because they were inherently a bad person, but because they were easily fooled (the main cause of which I believe is that they were intentionally not taught critical thinking skills and media literacy as those skills more easily allow us to see through the various illusions, and the same goes for emotion regulation skills, empathy, and an understanding of marginalization and intersectional politics, which protect against the coordinated effort by the system(s) and those with power to attempt to turn us against each other and see others as non-human, but that’s a whole huge conversation (that I’m willing to have but not necessarily publicly; feel free to reach out if you intend to have a good faith conversation))
Does anyone know who this person actually is? Shouldn’t we try to tell them this is happening?
How about all tech backdoors are bad and we should aim to use and make software and hardware that is ethically produced and usable without selling out your privacy and security?
Some quick points:
blocked off API access (last I checked you could get around this by paying an exorbitant fee 🙄) meaning 3rd party apps don’t work and you absolutely must use the official app which is garbage and collects all kinds of data from what I’ve heard (never used it) as well as disabling services that do stuff with reddit data from the API such as mass delete scripts users would use to get their content off reddit
fertile ground for bots and bad actors to manipulate, misinform and recruit users into alt-right and other spaces that perpetuate harm
moderation policies and practices that allow and in some cases encourage Nazi shit while blocking or restricting harm reduction, LGBTQIA+, anti-fascist, etc topics
massive astroturfing and dis/misinfo campaigns
flagging the word “Luigi” for violent content with automod and giving people warnings for upvoting content that goes against preferred narratives
And certainly more that I’m forgetting
Does anyone know how to reliably delete an entire reddit account, ideally editing over each comment as well? I did this before they closed off access to the API but upon checking months later, they had reverted all the changes so my account looks like it did before with everything visible.

I don’t know if you realize this but when you say “you’re being picky” about food in contexts such as this it can be considered ableist, and also dismissive and inconsiderate in my opinion. I prefer oatmeal to eggs but if someone told me I was “being picky” because of a choice I made because of price, sensory experience, and energy cost, I would be offended. I wouldn’t say this every time the word is used but the context and your username make me think it is appropriate and you might be receptive to the feedback.
