I was scrolling to see if anyone put this up. Great movie, I haven’t seen it in some years so it is time to watch it again.
That is really my hope. The story picks up many years later so once the actors look 5 years older and have some grey hairs then I want them to film the next set of books.

It’s definitely going on my list of shows to watch. I always found it interesting that country music with obvious roots in black music, had no representation in the charts of pop country.
That said I loathe country music for its lack of diversity and reliance on dated tropes. I have to listen to it on the radio at work and they all sing about whiskey and how their ancestors were badasses from prohibition in (name of southern state).

I was manager at my last job. My shift of guys ran well without me needing to hand hold them. They knew I would be in within a 30 min window. I was there for more than 8 hours and available by email or text about 18 hours a day 6 days a week so me showing up at 1130pm or 12:05am didn’t matter much.
It’s probably pretty easy while you are in the army to feel like you love what you are doing. They strip down your individuality during basic and build you up to be part of a team. Your life and your teams lives are in each other’s hands so you love and trust these people, you suffer loss and victory together so you feel a part of something stronger than anything you probably ever experienced.
It isn’t until you get out that you can look back and see that every loss and victory was just bodies thrown into a meat grinder and the mixture of “enemies” and “friends” just changes the war sausage that day.
