I couldn’t remember if they was Douglas Adams or Kurt Vonnegut. Both work
I just reached my mid-40s, and at the same time, I realized that I have been overthinking everything. Nobody cares, and those that do, you shouldn’t care about. Too many missed opportunities because I thought it worried too much and did too little. I think my new outlook may have been influenced by the ever increasing deaths of people around me. Time keeps speeding up, I’ll be dead soon. So will everyone. Do whatever you want, be nice to people, it’ll all be over too soon.
30 was the beginning of my youth. I became more emotionaly mature, physicaly mature, I had a decade of adult experiences to reference. I wasn’t the new kid, I was the functional adult. I became more me in my 30’s. I really enjoyed the good parts. Then I turned 40… I’ll let you know how that goes
Thanks, I had hope for a few seconds.
Dang, I didn’t see that.
They were based off of William Shatner’s TekWar series of books. My uncle gave me a few and I tried reading them. Just imagine Tek Jannsen, but without any of the humor.
It’s not about being right, it’s about winning power.

A smart man always knows what to say, a wise man knows when not to say it.
It’s the life equivalent of typing out a comment only to then delete it and move on.
Just because you know something, or know a better way, doesn’t mean you have to tell everyone. That mental exercise plays into my other tool: Let them.
Let them be wrong, let them fill the silence they created, let them get bent out of shape, and let them try to figure it out. Sometimes, they’ll get to where you already are; other times, they’ll figure out an approach you didn’t even consider, or you’ll realize that you were the one who was wrong the whole time. Let people be people. Listen, look, learn, and then, when you’re ready, when it’s needed, lead.
Oh, and don’t give people answers to questions they didn’t ask. They’re less likely to listen to you. When they’re ready for the answer, they’ll ask.
It was tough not to delete this comment, but I’ll let the paradox stand as is.
I’ve only tried one, blind, it was worms. Never again. That was over twenty years ago and I still gag just thinking about it.
