Yeah… Neither of those disprove my comment. The first article is about temporary legal status being given by a previous administration. Key word there being temporary. I’m not going to argue the morality or legality of that whole situation but those appear to be special exceptions.

Second article just proves that ICE is being racist and doing their jobs of checking peoples legal status. I did only skim the article but it didn’t appear to report that any of them actually got deported. Just detained and questioned.

You can see at the end that Pleakley shows his alien form when someone hits a button so I am guessing they will have human disguises for parts of the movie because it’s harder to dress up and alien to look human in a live action movie when the animated one just had them put on a hat and sunglasses.

I’ll withhold judgement until I’ve seen the whole movie but it looks like they captured the important parts of the original. Not gonna become a classic like the original but I’m sure it’ll be fun for the kids and at least possibly entertaining for the adults.

99% of people do not give a shit if someone wants to identify as trans as long as they are an adult and they aren’t trying to enter into spaces that belong to the biological gender they are now identifying as.

Where you lose people is when you involve children and when you try to make the argument that trans people are exactly the same as their bilogical mirrors. Everyone knows they are not. It is lunacy to try and pretend they are.

I will happily call them by their prefer name/gender and I will do my best to use neutral terms when I remember, but don’t vilify people for making honest mistakes. Long before the whole transgender topic really blew up I remember accidentally mis gendering people on the phone a few times because I thought they sounded masculine or feminine. There was no ill intent and they didn’t take it as such. They simply corrected me and I apologized and we moved on. That same interaction now has been turned into its own genre of rage bait video for some people.

Nowhere is perfect. Despite all its flaws America is still the number 1 immigration destination so clearly we must be doing something right.

I can’t deny they do run basically forever. My dad got one to replace his minivan once all the kids had moved out and he is able to take him and his wife to gigs with his whole drum set comfortably in the back.

I drive his Prius occasionally for various reasons and I just don’t like it each time. I find it unsatisfying to drive and unpleasant to look, but I cannot deny it’s utility and reliability.

Always appreciate someone who needs out about ATLA. I enjoyed the read and I guess I agree with you on the lava thing. Putting in context of the water benders being able to change the phases of water it makes more sense.

Not wanting trans women to compete against biological women in sports does not mean people want them to “go away”. It means they aren’t the same as biological women and people are tired of you guys pretending that they are.

When you look people in the eyes and tell them that a biological man that now identifies as a woman can actually get pregnant (despite lacking the biological requirements to do so) you are asking them to ignore reality and science which most people simply aren’t willing to do.

You guys are mad at him but he is taking the same stance that the majority of people have on it.

Whether or not he actually believes that stance only he would know, but I would suspect that like many other people who are now “flipping” on the trans athletes these people probably didn’t support them being in women’s sports, but felt compelled to say they did because of the backlash they were worried about getting.

Now that people are noticing that the general public actually doesn’t want this they are either playing into to popular stance to take or they are just feeling safe to actually express their opinions on the matter authentically.

Idk if it’s “lesser known” exactly but it’s a comfort show that I can have on in the background at all times: Psych.

It’s got a specific pacing and humor that tickles my brain just right. They will let some of the funniest jokes you have ever heard just fly right by if you aren’t paying attention.

Not super complicated or deep thinking. Just cheesy fun.

You’re getting into the problems with the magic system of the ATLA universe when taken to its extremes.

If you really let them all go hog wild people wouldn’t be fighting in a combat sense but more in a instantly kill you kinda way. I can see why they stopped at lightning for a kids show. The blood bending was already a bit extreme and I am still a bit surprised Nickelodeon let that happen.
