I kinda doubt that Porter aligns more with the average Californian. Remember, we are the state with the most Republicans which would also mean more moderates. I think Kamala’s less liberal/progressiveness would appeal to conservatives over Porter. On the other hand, there was so much crap slung at Kamala, I could imagine conservatives not wanting her failing to comprehend that she’s better aligned to their ideals than Porter.
I stopped using reddit quite a bit after the API exodus. I’ve more recently just felt the itch to check out reddit due to content. Regardless, I don’t post, or vote on reddit to at least minimize the support I give there.
I mean part of the thing is that the federation allows instances to be more strict. Right now, Reddit has a huge financial disincentive for clearing out bots. If these bots bring in attention, and bump up their numbers, then the company looks better. Here, instances can be more aggressive with banning them. I do agree it will be more difficult as there’s not as much money coming in here to help deal with bots as instances get larger, but at least the incentive is there.

No, a lot of people hate on the Russian government. I will say that the comic should say Russia instead of Russians to clarify that, unless the author themself is incorrect/misled.
Russia is the one who has been supporting Trump through their bot network in various social medias. We’re basically fighting an information war, and yet we basically won’t acknowledge it so we lose.

Stepping down was mainly due to his debate performance, not the genocide. Why do I believe that? A shit ton of people still voted for Kamala. It wasn’t enough for her to win, and it was less than Biden s votes last election, but a majority of Biden voters from his election still voted for Kamala.
Originally we aren’t talking about why he lost ( i do agree, perhaps incorrectly, that Kamala lost enough support because of her position on Gaza). Originally we were talking about why he was forced to step down, which again was due to his debate performance.

How did he “demand a second term in the last minute”? The assumption is a president will run for re election.
I mean he was asked to step down because of the worry that his mental faculties, not due to his policies. Remember, it was right after his first debate with Trump. The following debate, Kamala roasted Trump.
