I am trying to switch to Qwant but I can’t get it to search. When I added it manually it just goes to the Qwant website when I search.
Qwant is built in option in Vivaldi for me on mobile.
To add it manually in settings on desktop it should be added as follows:
https://www.qwant.com/?q=%25sFor some reason lemmy keeps changing the %s to %25s even though it’s listed as code. If you see 25 above in the url delete that, it should end %s to work.
%s is what Vivaldi uses to give whatever search term you type to a search engine like qwant. It works for me manually so should work for Vivaldi.
WOAV, that worked. Thanks. Oddly enough, the Qwant app I installed used the same link but didn’t work at all. This should really be a feature that Vivaldi works more on streamlining.
There should be a plug in from quant to add it to the list of search engines. The “add manual” thing is always confusing. It has to be a domain that accepts the addition of your search prompt. What domain did you put there?
