Of course Bavaria. Everyone one else in Europe is thinking about moving away from US companies but Bavaria is killing of OSS initatives to move to the MS cloud…
It really is. Nürnberg, München and Starnberger See are lovely though. Possibly other places too. But there’s simply too much old money trying to cling to the status quo and not let go.
Well, it’s obvious from your condescending and insulting tone that you’re completely right and I’m completely wrong, so there’s no use pretending that it would be in any way valuable for me to present an ‘explanation’.
I think it all boils down to saying “GDR is the antipode to progressive politics”. Which, to me (a huge ignorant on GDR politics) is a rephrasing of “communism=bad”.
Thankfully I can distinguish between communism, authoritarianism, progressivism, conservatism, and whatnot. But, for some reason, the former-GDR lands consistently align with conservative policies.

“giving a shit” means “caring about”, I think you meant the opposite
Probably wanted to say “shits on”
Yeah in German, the phrase (einen Scheiß geben) means the opposite.
“drauf” fehlt noch :-)
Bavaria, the Texas of Europe

One would think that the former GDR would be doing this instead.
Now let’s please explain how that thought entered you mind and you then thought it plausible enough to state it publicly?

fair, I shouldn’t have used that tone. Sorry for that.
Their tone might have been a bit sarcastic, but was neither condescending nor insulting.
I for one would like to know why GDR would be more likely than other parts of Germany to adopt these policies.
