October 2008. I remember exactly… because I had an economics professor in university who started her classes by writing the Dow Jones on the chalkboard. One day I came and I noted that the number had dropped significantly from the day before, she told me ‘we haven’t seen a drop that big since 1929’.
Yeah… and just 10 months prior I had another professor tell me that the economy was in such boom that it was making the post-WW2 economic boom look tame… yeah…
I remember it before election day. The drop in stock market prices. I know because I also remember a lot of people saying that Obama would never be president while people were still scrambling to make sense of the crash.
