There’s barely any Source material. It’s like what three short stories? Enough for maybe one season? If it’s a short one? It’s another story he’s never finished.
so tired of fucking prequels. i don’t mind spinoffs as much as most people but can we please just go forward with a story?
Excited for this. In terms of spinoffs this is the one I’ve been looking forward to the most. The first season, which covers the first novella, is an excellent and fun story.
They’re going to try and stretch one Novella to cover an entire season? I was thinking maybe two episodes for each novella, three tops, and then they do one season from the three stories they have. How short is this season supposed to be? Heck to even get to four episodes they would have to pad the shit out of that story.
It’s supposed to be six episodes, which I think might be a little long, but I think four episodes is easy and adding in more character development you can easily get to six.

- Arrival and Egg background reveal.
- Trial by combat and expansion to trial of seven explained.
- Recruitment.
- The battle/trial.
- Post game and preparing for adventure.
Plus they’re all fun little largely self contained adventures so while we have two more already to pull from (and maybe She wolves someday) you can probably add in fun little stories without needing source material.
That is unbelievable that they’re stretching at that far. I mean the first one there should be a 10-minute sequence at most. And that’s if you’re stretching. The way you lay it out I see two episodes there at best. This show is going to be a problem.
