I discovered this earlier this year. I thought it was great, it couldn’t have been purely nostalgia as I never saw this series until 2025.
The acting can be so-so, the CGI definitely hasn’t aged well (although I don’t mind at all and even like this aesthetic), but if you like cyberpunk you’ll enjoy this. The setting oozes with style.
It’s a mix of main story arc and self-contained cyberpunk detective stories. Unfortunately, there is only one season.
Where did you find it to watch? Sailing the high seas? Nothing on justwatch.com seems to show it as available.
That or DVDs.

I’ve seen some other stuff from the 90s put through an AI upscale and it really helped sharpen the image. One of the things AI is actually really useful for.
Ha, how is it allowed to be uploaded? No one is just checking for its copyright I guess? Or does the processing throw detectors off?
Holy shit, this is amazing! And wow, what a time capsule. That period of 1996-2005 with hour-long scripted dramas like this that were so intricate and yet you had to watch religiously or you’d miss 1 episode and be lost. Tons of production value in this first episode as well. I can see why it didn’t get picked up, but also surprising that the IP combining Total Recall and Blade Runner wouldn’t just get smashed up into an HBO series now.
Thanks!
Does it end on a cliffhanger?
I will just say that it’s relatively easy to enjoy the first seasons by itself, although a second season would have been nice.
I feel like it might be similar to Charlie Jade?
Neve heard of Charlie Jade! Will need to check it out.
It sounds similar, but Total Recall 2070 really focuses of Philip K. Dick style stories about replicants, hacking, space colonies and so on. It’s difficult to miss.
Charlie Jade is definitely worth a watch, it’s very underrated. Not many people have heard of it.
To me it was most similar to Almost Human, down to the main character dynamics.
whoa this sounds right up my alley, thanks!
