Summary

Trump has privately signaled that Elon Musk will likely step back from his role as a special government employee when his 130-day term ends in May, sources told ABC News.

Though some aides hoped to extend Musk’s appointment, internal divisions and public controversy have made that unlikely.

Trump praised Musk’s work with DOGE but acknowledged he will “go back and run Tesla.”

White House officials have shifted to managing Musk’s influence until his term expires. The White House confirmed Musk will leave when his role concludes.

He’s been useful, but it’s starting to hurt his pocketbook. So he steps back, people start buying teslas again in 6 months, trump doesn’t get the blame, they win.

Elon is not coming back from this. His image as a genius businessman is gone. The left will not forgive him heiling on stage. If he loses MAGA’s support he will be left without a fan base. Hard to imagine this man-child not just completely disintegrating because of this.

Your conservative coworker should be tarred and feathered in the town square while being made to watch fact-based news for a change.

Edit: maybe not tar, as I now remember from school how that was exceptionally torturous and cruel. Super glue sounds like a good replacement.

i’m under the impression no amount of fact based news will get his mouth out of trump and musk’s balls.

under the veil hes just a homophobe racist, and thats the basis for his stupidity with trump, as hes otherwise very smart.

        I really hope you’re right.

Fun fact: the term “quisling” (a traitor who collaborates with an enemy force occupying their country) is due to the actions of Vidkun Quisling during WW2. Musk already means something, alas.

Yeah I’m curious to see where he goes or pivots after this. Tesla is def dead. Maybe he can go back to South Africa. Or maybe south East Asia where a lot of people might not follow western politics or care about the significance of the Nazi salute.

I’ll believe it when I see it. But if it’s true I’ll guarantee you it’s in response to basically every county in Wisconsin shifting to the left in their recent Supreme Court election despite elon wasting millions on trying to rig it.

Yeah, and now that Musk is unpopular with conservatives, Trump will still use Musk to buy elections but we just won’t hear about it (if they’re smart).

On one hand, good riddance to the arm-raising bulldozer destroying the foundations supporting us, The People, on the other hand, I don’t trust any trump administration dipshit numbnuts to take over anything technological since they can’t handle basic signal group chats.

    I suppose fuck-it-up-and-leave is his M.O.
