Mastodon is people focused, lemmy is topic focused. Basically with a good algorithm you dont need the crudge “subforums/communities” anymore?

Mastodon has no Algorithm at all, so unless you hashtag like hell, nobody finds your stuff. I drown in new posts and dont even try reading them.

The “rambling style” without any scope seems to attract corpos and organizations so you can follow these.

    What lemmy needs, a lot

    • search for words. This doesnt work at all in Jerboa!
    • crossposting in Jerboa
    • markdown preview in Jerboa
    • video attachments?? Or other files?
    • de-duplicating communities and making decentralization easier. This is a huge problem.
    • (PM conversation view in Jerboa, at all)

No other client I tried worked well, had a clean UI and supported basic features. Jerboa is the best but lacks a lot
