Maarva’s speech doesn’t land anywhere near as hard if you don’t watch the several hours of story that precede it. And that’s why it reaches so high. Every fucking minute of that show stands on top of the last. Higher and higher. I struggle to recall another show that successfully does that without “resetting” between scenes, episodes, or at least seasons.

Episodes 8 and 9 in particular from season 2 were haunting. Is it maybe just the genocide angle mirroring Israel/Palestine too closely making critics not want to touch the series?
