I think this is last one that I’ve seen but opinions change over time:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnNPcUeL9Mc

I just rewatched a bit and I think he says it would be: “him and Greg” OR two American hosts. So we’re both correct! :)

He’s chaotic as hell and the TM is traditionally quite stoic

I know what you mean. I’m thinking late night Conan just sitting in the chair cracking wise. I think he has the ability to sit in that chair and take it both serious and ridiculous and play it off well. I also love his interplay with his co-hosts.

    He’d make an INCREDIBLE contestant

I also agree he’d be the best contestant because he loves playing for the camera and he’s obviously very smart so it’d be gold.

his brand isn’t serious enough to take Greg’s place IMO

As we said, I disagree but we both love Taskmaster and Conan so it’s not a big disagreement :). Who do you think would honour the US Taskmaster seat in your opinion?

I’ve been talking to my friend about this ever since you replied because I had no good suggestions lol

Don’t have a definitive answer but here’s a couple that made us both say “I could see that!”:

      1. Bill Burr

      2. David Spade

      3. Paul F. Thompkins

      4. Nathan Fielder

Weird list, I know. My top pick is Fielder so I’ll give you the pitch:

Nathan Fielder lacks the “power” of Greg/Tom/Jeremy but he makes up for it in a different way. While Greg might intimidate you with his presence, Nathan is an expert on pushing people with shame. Sure, most contestants would win in a fist fight…but when he’s in serious mode, people listen.

I specifically am thinking back to the first episode of Nathan For You when the woman accurately guessed the yogurt flavor and he doesn’t back down in trying to make her admit she’s eaten poop.

We also briefly discussed TM assistants and the frontrunner there is Zach Woods

I don’t know if Bill Burr would be any good at this, but I love Bill Burr so I want to see him in everything! I think his scoring would be hilarious because he’s so “frank” and he’d make the scoring just absolutely hilarious. I can already hear, “what the f__k was that? how can I give you a point for that? geezus!”

David Spade is versatile, I think he can do a Taskmaster but definitely a different style than Greg Davies.

I’ve never heard of Paul F. Thompkins before but I just watched a clip and I can definitely see him as a Taskmaster.

Nathan Fielder … hmm … I’ve never seen him. I just watched a clip. I think I need to watch Nathan For You now, however, I think he’d make a better Taskmaster’s assistant than Taskmaster?

Zach Woods would make a good TM assistant for sure!

I personally don’t think Bill Burr would be great but we were really struggling to make a list. I think he’d be an awesome contestant because he shines when he’s annoyed

I had to sell my friend on Fielder but he came around. All the TMs I’ve seen have had their own style so I was thinking of who could bring a new spin on it. His schtick is the awkward guy but my favorite parts of the show were usually when he’s the awkward, serious, and determined guy. Something about his delivery puts people on the spot in ways I haven’t seen before. I don’t think he’d be a great assistant because his persona is NOT self aware.

I can’t think of any American comedians with that same “big guy” energy who aren’t douchebags. If TJ Miller wasn’t a piece of shit, I think he could pull it off
