Mitch McConnell referred to himself as the “Grim Reaper” to signify his role in blocking progressive policies, stating that if he remained Senate majority leader, such policies would not pass. Mitch wasn’t responsible for cutting things from bills. He would just simply flat out let the bills sit on his desk where they went to die, hence the nickname. But my point is moot lol
