Referendum on immigration limit could threaten EU agreements and cripple economy, say Swiss businesses

Switzerland will vote this summer on a proposal from the far-right Swiss People’s party (SVP) to limit the country’s population to 10 million, a move that would threaten key agreements with the EU and, opponents say, cripple the economy.

The government said on Wednesday the referendum on the SVP’s “No to a 10 million Switzerland” initiative, which is strongly opposed by both chambers of parliament and the business and financial services community, would be held on 10 June.

The initiative would oblige the Swiss government and parliament to act if the country’s permanent population, currently 9.1 million, exceeds 9.5 million by denying entrance to newcomers, including asylum seekers and the families of foreign residents.

    No, it’s only for idiots who think they’re better than everyone else. The average person would shut the fuck up and note open themselves up to a challenge. This is for assholes that publicly state they’re better than immigrants.

    You can be nominated by a vote in your village or canton if you make public statements about being superior to immigrants.

    And people that talk a good game are allowed to freely open themselves to a challenge. Because of the prize

    A global pool of challengers goes through rankings to get a top 32 bracket every year, who each pay CHF 5,000 to challenge a Swiss asshole. One of the 32 is selected randomly to compete against said asshole. Up to 32 a year.

    A rigorous and objective test happens on the Italian side of the border. You know, so no one gets too used to Swiss life. Language, history, skiing, eating cheese, etc.

    The winner gets CHF 1 million, citizenship, and all real estate of the challenged asshole. The loser gets nothing. If the asshole losses, they have 72 hours to get them, their car amd shit, their spouse, and any minor children out of the country where they will experience being an immigrant themselves.

    And you’ll never hear another Swiss far right asshole mumble a peep ever again once the first fucking time their ubermench hero gets sent packing.
