I’ve been sifting through my digital footprint for a while now and I’m getting to my old accounts that I’ve mostly forgotten about. I thought it would be fun if we shared what we delete, you just might jog someone else’s memory of an account they still have floating around.
Today: -Amazon -PayPal -Ubisoft
I managed to delete most of it through the course of last year.
Windows --> Linux Mint Office --> LibreOffice WhatsApp --> Signal Android --> e/Os Gmail --> Posteo & Tutamail Reddit --> Lemmy Maps --> Comaps & Here Microsoft Authenticator --> Aegis Shazam --> Audile
In general I found lots of Open source Apps on F- Droid
I permanently deleted Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Netflix. I looked into alternatives but nothing really good. To be honest I do not miss them, as mainly all are just bloated with Ads.
Spotify is still on the list, but as I have 5 other people in my account I could not yet switch from it.
How are you finding e/os? I’ve been looking at it for a while now but haven’t made the jump yet. Specifically support for things like banking apps and WhatsApp as I can’t get rid of those quite yet.
I really like it. Was impressed how good it works, as I only have a Community version, not an official build. Especially that they show you how many trackers the apps have, never thought there would be so many.
Never had any major issues since using it nearly a year.
Only thing I do not like so much is their App Lounge, as updates there come a bit later, so mostly I use Aurora Store instead.

What is not working is in App purchases, as I do not use a Google Account.
