Of course they’ll fall for it. Centrists are some of the dumbest people alive.
Imagine getting out smarted by fucking MTG.
They’re not fooled, they’re colluding.
Centrists will end up falling for it
Well yeah, it says that in the title
They always do
To the DNC, better her than AOC
They already did Dick Cheney, it doesn’t get much lower than that.
I’m not.
There isn’t a single centrist who believes this just progressives who believe centrists believe it.
Isn’t Newsweek just another right wing shill? Pretty sure they’d love to drive a wedge between Democrats and people that could be swayed.
Doesn’t change the fact that a lot of Democrats have recently gone in front of the media, praising MTG for her recent “pivot”. This article isn’t the only example either. I’ve watched interviews and read several other articles where they’ve been saying the same things.
I have no problem with giving someone credit, where credit is due…but when you actually listen to the totality of MTG’s grievances here, you quickly realize, that she still does not align with the left’s perspectives on these topics, at all.
It’s like the difference between right-wing and left-wing criticisms of Israel. One side is criticizing Israeli policy regarding their treatment of Palestinians…and the other side just hates Jews. You can’t exactly praise someone like Nick Fuentes for “being right about Israel”, without overlooking everything he says is “wrong with Israel”. Pretending like MTG is somehow, suddenly “on our side”, requires you to ignore everything she actually stands for.
“How much do you want to bet @mtgreenee is going to try to run for President in 2028 as a Democrat?" wrote far-right activist Laura Loomer.
Because they get half their talking points from MAGA.
Maybe you should read the article sometime, but I guess that gets in your time of being wrong yet smug like you were right the entire time.
Didn’t read the rest of the article, huh? Down below that one quote, there’s a whole list from prominent Democrats.
Prominent democrats like Ro Khanna?
Ummm…did you really need me to quote the article for you? You could just read it, you know.
I’m the one quoting the article instead of just being sarcastic.
Lol! Wow. So, you are going to make me copy and paste half the article here, instead of just reading it.
Ok…
Some Democrats have praised these recent remarks by Greene.
Representative Ro Khanna, a California Democrat, told Newsweek he is appreciative of Greene’s recent comments.
“I appreciate what Marjorie Taylor Greene is saying about health, home and auto insurance being unaffordable for most Americans and for calling out efforts to prevent any state from passing legislation to protect workers or kids from AI. I look forward to working with anyone in Congress to do something bipartisan on bringing down costs or AI,” he said.
Senator Ruben Gallego, an Arizona Democrat, told CNN on October 9 that her messaging is stronger than some Democrats.
“Well, she’s not doing better than me, but she’s definitely doing better than a lot of Democrats,” he said.
Senator Jeanne Shaheen, a New Hampshire Democrat, voiced agreement with Greene’s comments on the ACA credits in a post to X on October 9.
“Millions of moms just like @RepMTG are worried about how their families are going to afford health care if the ACA enhanced premium tax credits expire. We can take action now to extend these credits. Let’s work together to get this done and prevent costs from soaring,” Shaheen wrote.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said Monday on MSNBC’s Katy Tur Reports that he has not met with Greene, but said she has had a “surprisingly enlightened few weeks in terms of her perspective on both the Epstein files.”
Grant Davis Reeher, professor of political science at Syracuse University, told Newsweek that Democrats’ praise of Greene is representative of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” logic.
“It seems more like straightforward political opportunism, and once again the issue of Trump, pro and con, is driving the bus,” he said. “Given all that MTG has said over the years, it seems very strange that any Democrat would align themselves with her, on anything. But these are strange political times.”
Stephen Farnsworth, professor of political science at the University of Mary Washington, told Newsweek that Greene recognizes that the Epstein scandal “is not going away,” while other Republicans would “prefer not to recognize” that.
I’m going to stop there, because if you didn’t read that far down the 1st time, you probably aren’t going to read this far down, this time either.
The tell for me is that they are always the first 5-10 comments on any post, immediately trying to wedge low-effort anti-Democrat points in. Like its their job.
Zero “pro-progressive” traffic from them
What accounts? What counts as pro-progressive? How often is too much for the “low effort antidemocrat points”?
