The Oscars were a thing to watch when we had 3-4 TV stations, kinda like the Miss America pageant. GenX doesn’t watch the Oscars and I can’t imagine anyone younger does either.

But what do I know? I can’t believe ABC, NBC and CBS still exist and have regular shows and news.

Pretty slow move. 2029 is nearly 25 years since YT founding (and streaming existed around ~10 years before that; remember RealPlayer?).

That’s already where I’ve been watching it. Clips pop up, give them a watch if they look interesting, otherwise read the highlights.

When it comes to rich people giving other rich people accolades and golden statues the best thing we can do is ignore them entirely. They think it matters and we prove them right by clicking the link. Don’t click the link and suddenly they get the hint that they aren’t important to anyone outside of their bubble.
