What do they do with people that intentionally avoid social media? Is it simply presumed they’re hiding something?

Ding ding ding, now we’re finally getting somewhere here.

I’m beginning to believe the point to all this is to, if you’ll excuse the cliche, “literally become 1984”. They want to normalize the idea of having your every thought and action recorded and monitored across state-surveilled social media platforms.

So if for some reason you take a weekend holiday up in New England and decide to keep that to yourself? Now it’s suspicious. What were you doing in Vermont? Meeting up with other communists? Planning a revolution, perhaps? Detained.
