Pro-Trump owner shocked as grocery store that thrived for 43 years goes bankrupt under his tariffs and policies Wong, who supported Trump in the last election, said he was swayed by campaign promises to reduce grocery costs. But now, as his business struggles to stay afloat, he admits the reality looks very different. Grocery inflation is at a two-year high, and prices continue to climb with no end in sight.

Wong told NPR that virtually all of his products have increased in price since early this year. For instance, a box of mabo tofu sauce — a popular Sichuan dish — has gone from $2.75 last year to $3.95 at the beginning of this year. “We just had this shipment come in yesterday — it’s $5. We cannot catch up. Every shipment coming in, we have to put a new price on it,” Wong said.

    ANYONE WITH HALF A BRAIN

It’s amazing to me that you all still think you’re so smart after the Obama and Biden presidencies. So much of what Donald is doing right now would be impossible if Obama and Biden hadn’t enthusiastically participated in fascist politics themselves. (Including the acceptability of having very public brain damage as president.)

It’s nice to hear that someone doesn’t.

I voted Biden with full understanding that, at least economically, nothing meaningful would change. It felt important for there to be a cultural victory against Trumpism; However, as we saw this last four years, Biden was a fascist too, and to make matters worse, was very publicly in cognitive decline and no one with the power to meaningful change gave a damn about it.

This is the take I hear from every single person I have met, in person, about this. They don’t vote for the Democrats, they vote against the one thing worse than them. The only thing we can do in this country, right now, is slow damage. We need a revolutionary change, but looking at all the people who organize within communist, socialist, etc. groups, their plans are wishy washy, and while they come off as pretty spelled out, they are shallow, and they do not want to address the questions of what happens when people simply always resist real change. They are more scared of setting off and active revolution, than they are living this way.

Though I do what I can with those who are in my area, the leftist orgs have nothing to show in terms of what they have brought to the benefit of the people. They simply have rhetoric against what is here, and empty promises is not going to pull people away from the establishment they grew up within. We got some, local, changes passed here that demonstrably increased the QOL, however it was never branded with a clear leftist group, so people assumed it was the local Democrats.

On the other hand, you have a bunch of keyboard warriors online that preach violence, and some who even condemn those who haven’t taken up arms, as cowards. Meanwhile they have nothing to show. They aren’t out there carrying out “action”. The only appreciable counter actions, to the MAGA cult of personality, that is playing out in real life, has come the “more like early last century England, not on the level of Nazi Germany” liberals. However, their actions are simply to stop MAGA, as they want to preserve the empire.

This is the only power most of us have at this point, and I make it a point to be active locally myself.

You think Biden was a fascist because he didn’t use the justice system to go after his political enemies when it was 100% warranted.

Then you agree they did this with a full brain and therefore deserve all the consequences coming to them.

It would be possible no matter who was president because the “immigration crisis” is fully fabricated by the media.

True, but when Dubya started kidnapping (I mean “renditioning” people) and torturing them, and then Obama did those things AND put kids in cages and concocted a kill list, while knowingly drone bombing an American citizen, and then Donald did all those things and tried to ban Muslims, which were then followed up by Biden doing all those things AND making sure a child genocide and a manufactured famine got full US support…

…it’s easy to see how both sides have made all this possible.

It’s a little laughable watching all the hand wringing about Hegseth’s war crimes. (though a little satisfying)

then Obama did those things AND put kids in cages

Hate to break it to you, but that was Trump.

          https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-44518942.amp

While Obama’s legacy on immigration was mixed and not exactly great, his administration did make a point to keep families together and not isolate children from their relatives.

You and I must have lived through a very different Obama era.

Hate to break it to you, but that was Trump.

And Obama. Obama also did state kidnappings “family separations”. The only difference was that Donald didn’t try to intellectualize around it and was very blatant about what he was doing, whereas Obama tried to put lipstick on the pig in the mold of a “compassionate conservative” like Dubya.

While Obama’s legacy on immigration was mixed and not exactly great

Always appreciate how euphemistically people speak about Obama, as if his policies didn’t provide a normalization for greater fascist abuses under Donald and Biden.

Are you actually repeating Trump talking points while also being angry about it?

              https://www.npr.org/2019/04/09/711446917/fact-check-trump-wrongly-states-obama-administration-had-child-separation-policy

There was nothing euphemistic about my previous comment. I linked details on Obama’s record on immigration policy. He didn’t all keep his promises on immigration and his track record on it was mediocre and with a high number of deportations. That’s not the same thing as having kids in cages (again, that was Trump term 1), or anything like the atrocities we’re seeing today from ICE’s thugs.

Please, source your statements if you’re going to be this wrongly argumentative about it. Otherwise this isn’t a discussion worth continuing.

                Again, with the euphemistic language.

Let’s call him what he was: a lying, corrupt son of a bitch.
