I rediscovered the joy of my own music collection by quitting Spotify and switching to self-hosted Navidrome.

When I want a specific mood or even artist for music I own, I use navidrome. To expand that collection I use bandcamp (and bandcamp Fridays). To discover new stuff, I rely on recommendations from friends or go wide with sources like NTS radio or similar.
