There’s no faster, easily recognizable way to depict “radicalization” than clown makeup, even if you don’t know the movies or Joker lore, it makes a strong point. I don’t know what iconic signifier you could draw from Fight Club that would make readers go “Aahh she’s fed up, even the people you least expect have a breaking point.”
