I’ve only watched a few scenes, but the characters seem extremely unlikable.

I know from close associates that the wind energy diatribe was just wrong and they never corrected the dipshit who said it. IIRC the creator Taylor Sheridan (?) is heavily financed from a wealthy Texas oil tycoon which is why all of those shows have anti-renewable energy biases.

This show is a disgrace, go listen to the podcast it’s based on instead
