    I thought Trump was some kind of magic “deal maker”. He used to go on and on about how any government shutdown would be the fault of the president, simply because it was the president’s job to “get everyone in a room, and get a deal done”. Where’s that guy now?

      They already got rid of the house of representatives, so why not do the senate too? Trump has publicly said on multiple occasions he doesn’t need them.

      It’s 2028. Somehow there were elections, Trump was voted out, and Democrats have full control.

    I often talk about how politicians were different way back when. There was a time when senators were senators who saw themselves for the special role they played and the senate as special because of the rules it ran by.
