The majority of gout is based on fructose consumption, not purines. Uric acid by itself is actually an anti-inflammatory in the body, it is only when the body is dysfunctional through metabolic problems, specifically high fructose levels, that one of the hallmarks of gout is high uric acid, that’s not normal. The amount of uric acid the body can produce on its own is much higher than the amount that can be consumed, avoiding purine rich foods when you’re having a gout attack helps a little bit, but it is not the cause, and it is not the solution, it’s just symptom management

So a zero carbohydrate diet, carnivore, avoids all of the issues with metabolic dysfunction, avoids, fructose, avoids glycation end products in joints… it is not the environment that gout exists in. People with gout who use carnivore to treat the gout often report marked improvements rapidly.

Update: I should add gout is also causally linked to alcohol. alcohol and fructose have very similar metabolism pathways in the liver.
