I cannot wait for the future where all shows don’t have any continuity whatsoever and all the dialogue sounds the exact same in writing style, making it impossible to remember what show is what. It’s gonna be a bright future.

Frankly the LLMs of today could replace CEOs’ and most of managment right now. And even with hallucinations do a better job than the ‘leaders’ running the company.

I expect within 10 years people will be able to generate entire feature length films on-demand. They’ll be able to specify everything from the ip, to the plot, to the actors and musician style.

Not saying this is a good thing. Just saying I expect it will become a thing.

Everyone losing their shit at me for saying this should really brush up on what actual AI experts are saying.

You could make something feature length today, before the day is over.

That’s not the question here. The question is quality.

Totally! But the quality will go up exponentially and eventually people will be able to say:

“Give me a LOTR movie in the jackson style about the Silmarillion with Andy Serkis playing a supporting role and John Williams composing instead of Howard Shore.”

will it be good enough to 100% dispel our illusion that it’s generated? Hard to say. But this kind of media is 100% going to become a thing.

I’ll keep that expectation safely stored beside my hoverboard in the trunk of my flying car.

Many things could grow exponentially if not for the reasons they didn’t.

“Experts”, i.e., a video based on a scenario posited by three AI researchers, a college student, and a blogger. The scenario has been heavily criticized by experts for containing unsupported claims. My education is microbiology, not computer science, and even I can see the massive holes in their narrative.

The secondary sources for that video are all news articles.

I wouldn’t exactly call that a scientific consensus or even particularly convincing.

There aren’t enough forests in the world to be burned to provide power for this kind of system.
