The 70’s called. They want their incredibly childish drug policy back.

Not nearly enough, but a step in ghe right direction.

Decriminalisation helps users and lowers abuse, but it doesn’t take drug crime away from drug cartels. Which we definitely should do, and which would further help users and lower abuse.

Like compare Nordic governmental alcohol policies to prohibition era USA, you know. In this metaphor Portugal would be somewhat akin, but still a bit short of like a mid-eastern country where alcohol is sort of banned.

Drug trafficking is still criminal. It’s just acquisition and consumption for personal use that’s decriminalized.

Yes. And it being criminal means it stays in the hands of… drumrollcriminals.

That’s why it’s better to legalise everything and set up a regulated system. We can accept the fact that adult people can responsibly use even things such as cocaine, methamphetamines, opiates even. If there’s an actually regulated system that takes in account the user and suspected abuses, then it’s obviously vastly superior to any criminal run enterprise. It’s also healthier and funds the government through taxes from the funds which are now channelled directly into large international criminal enterprises.

Like I said. I prefer Alko to Al Pacino.
