Mr. President, this is NOT what I voted for.

"Karma is an ancient Indian concept that refers to an action, work, or deed, and its effect or consequences… [It’s] often descriptively called the principle of karma, wherein individuals’ intent and actions (cause) influence their future "

In the Bible it sez something like “As you vote, so shall you reap!”

I feel like some of the people here should consider why we all know she would vote the same way if an election was held immediately after making this post.

They are getting something that they desire more than lower grocery costs or anything sane things any sane person would value.

They are getting to hurt marginalized people with their votes.

This is their single voter issue, and its the reason why no matter how much they’ve shot themselves in the foot, they’ll buy that 500 dollar advil their insurance denied coverage for and load up another shell.

They don’t evaluate politicians based on if they’re happy. They evaluate politicians based on if who they hate feel sad.

Because, except for a minute percentage, all of you vote team color, no matter what.

That minute percentage gets to be finger-wagged at for not wanting to vote for a party that is enthusiastically supporting a genocide killing their family and friends abroad, or sitting idly by while fascism takes root here in the US, or ignoring that basic living is becoming unaffordable. Because, totally, why should anyone expect that working full time pays for rent, utilities, health care, AND groceries?

You can not want to do something and still recognize that abstaining from that vote is against the best interests of those who will be harmed if the wrong people end up gaining power. I sure didn’t like voting for Kamala. But I’m smart enough to realize that was the best option I had.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say it wasn’t just about racism. Sure there are Republicans that are racist but there’s still a good percentage of Liberals that are racist too. I think the facts of the matter do indeed matter, and unfortunately that comes with a plethora of misinformation and campaigns designed to target underprivileged voters. Low literacy rates will also exacerbate the divide. I’m so tired of this tirade that because “XYZ” people can’t be treated with human decency. I still believe Republicans deserve a good life, as well as immigrants, poor people, and Democrats. Thats literally the point of leftism is to practise distribution of goods on a need basis instead of on merit.

They thought abusing brown people would magically fix all the things they told were bad like universal healthcare, feeding children, and safety regulations.

They actually thought things would be cheaper with tariffs because Trump said so. They are hateful morons.

Absolutely. She 100% heard the explanation and ignored it because “that’s just lies against my big beautiful president,” and went on her way. I literally just went through it with my Trump voting uncle. I went through what he did that has directly hurt him. The response? I watch too much news.

Biggest fight I ever “started” with them was… Asking what specifically about Trump 1’s tax policy benefit them. I mean I know that I asked it because I knew that they didn’t make nearly enough to actually see a single cent of a tax cut from that round in 2017. But apparently his wife really didn’t appreciate my asking about it because all I got in response was “Doesn’t matter, still voting for him” after she specifically brought up taxes as the reason again mind you. I just asked her what specific benefit they got from his tax cuts. But I heard from my Mom that apparently I made that aunt really mad.

So mad in fact I have literally never seen her since actually come to think of it. They divorced not long after that, she moved to PA and is a fucking gay rights conservative which is fucking wild.

            Your uncle?

This is what you call Oppositional Defiance Disorder, plus also being in a death cult.

            https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/oppositional-defiant-disorder/symptoms-causes/syc-20375831

Even the best-behaved children can be difficult and challenging at times. But oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) includes a frequent and ongoing pattern of anger, irritability, arguing and defiance toward parents and other authority figures. ODD also includes being spiteful and seeking revenge, a behavior called vindictiveness.

These emotional and behavioral issues cause serious problems with family life, social activities, school and work. But as a parent, you don’t have to try to manage a child with ODD alone. Your health care provider, a mental health professional and a child development expert can help.

These are adults with an adult version of a pathological vindictiveness that is generally seen in ‘problem children’.

They literally are whiny, pissy, adult toddlers.

The aunt is more the ODD one. My uncle was the more recent interaction of “ignoring the facts because they don’t vibe with his feelings.” Don’t ask me how the hell they stayed married as long as they did.

My partner’s actually got her degree in behavioral pharmacology because what do you mean you told an autist that actually there are rules you can learn for human social bullshit and it’s not all some variation of “because I said so” or “that’s how we always did it” and there’s also a field within that where I don’t even have to really interact with any people? She was going to go super deep into the research route until she learned she was violently allergic to the rats then life just kinda happened from there. Anyway she clocked a lot of that in my aunt after meeting her literally fucking once lmao.

That’s the real tragedy here, damn, that fucking sucks.

                EDIT:

Uh, anyway, yeah I’m an autist too, don’t have a degree in psych or pharma, but I do have pattern recognition, curiosity, analytical skills… and a whole fuckton of ©PTSD from my own truly astoundingly dysfunctional family.

As in: I ghosted them / went no contact with them so hard that they very probably think I am dead.

Ayyy High Five for cutting off Toxic POS former family!

So far only my Dad has pissed me off bad enough to go full no contact. My wife had a kid already when she and I met. Now I love my son to bits, and because reasons I had well founded suspicions when my wife and I eventually decided to have another child that my Dad would play favorites. I told him many times in no uncertain terms this would not be tolerated.

So you can imagine my raw seething anger when I overheard him on the phone with my mother ask her “How it felt to finally be a Grandma?” She’d come up to help me with the oldest because the twins were born during the height of covid and he wasn’t allowed in the hospital with me. But my wife and I had been together for like 4 years at this point and married for almost 2 and to my Mom’s credit she shut him down right quick but I was already seeing Red lmao.

Of course then the dumb bastard had the sheer unmitigated audacity to claim when I texted him my grievances because I cry when I’m angry and I was angrier than I’ve ever been in my entire life that I wasn’t the one saying any of this and that my wife was texting for me. (Because he can’t text on his own and his girlfriend has to write all his emails and text messages you see.) So obviously this wouldn’t be something that I would actually be angry about and I have to prove that I’m actually there one saying it by calling him so he can dismiss my words and steamroll the conversation.

Here’s to peace without the people who cause so much pain! And to the long road of recovery that follows~

$300 for one meal? How many people is she feeding??

    Kroger

    Oh, so like 5.

Aldi forever. No, it is not the same company as Trader Joe’s if you’re wanting to talk about union busting. I say this because it happens every time.

You know that it’s common for people to feed 10 to 20 people on Thanksgiving, right? Plus there were probably leftovers and I highly doubt there was no alcohol in that purchase, which adds up quickly.

Every Thanksgiving of my childhood involved at least 1 gathering with 20+ family members, no one person in my family ever spent the inflation adjusted equivalent of that on Thanksgiving because it just wasn’t a financial option. Every household brought 1 or 2 dishes so that the host wasn’t responsible for paying to feed everyone, because when you have a large extended family that’s nuts.

Dude, we got an Aldi in my town, and I love it. Sure some of the stuff is different, and even has a tad different flavor…but I almost always feel my heart aching with relief when I see how much we get from Aldi with such low prices. My food stamps go so much further there. Thst place is a blessing to me and my family.
